Research Evaluation Services
DCCCA Research/Evaluation Services was established in
the late 1980's to provide federal, state and local
agencies with support in evaluating program
effectiveness. Contracting agencies have included the
Center for Substance Abuse Prevention, Addiction and
Prevention Services, the Kansas Department of Education,
The Kansas Department of Transportation/Bureau of
Traffic Safety, the National Highway Traffic Safety
Administration (NHTSA), the Kansas Department of
Corrections, the State of Florida, The Northern Cheyenne
Tribe of Lame Deer, Montana, the City of Lawrence, the
Kansas Highway Patrol, and a variety of other agencies
and school districts. DCCCA also supports a number of
on-line surveys for internal use and for various
community organizations.
One of our current projects is analyzing the outcomes for all of DCCCA's addiction treatment programs.
In addition, DCCCA Research/Evaluation Services conducts the NHTSA-required State-Wide Direct Observation Safety Belt Survey, the State-Wide Direct Observation Child Passenger Safety Seat Survey, and the evaluation of the annual "Click It or Ticket" campaign. DCCCA Research/Evaluation Services is also
providing technical support for the Crawford County Sheriff's Department, the Wyandotte County "Drive Wisely" Coalition and provides ongoing technical support for the Kansas Department of Transportation's Bureau of Traffic Safety. The newest project includes evaluation of the NHTSA "Rural Initiatives" effort to increase safety belt use in ten Southeast Kansas counties.
