We believe treatment needs to extend beyond abstaining from alcohol and drug use. Our residential programs offer expanded services to help reduce barriers to long term recovery. Services include detox beds, individual and group therapy, life skills coaching, health and wellness services, mental health services, family support, parenting skills training, and referrals for domestic violence intervention. Case managers help clients find employment, safe housing, or continue their education to help them become self-sustaining when they leave treatment.
DCCCA believes that women should not have to leave their children to participate in treatment. Our women’s programs house fully licensed child care facilities that allow women to seek treatment without the anxiety of separation from their families. Children receive special attention in the licensed child care facility, or attend school, while their mothers are involved in treatment activities. At meal times, at bedtime, or during leisure time, mothers may receive hands on teaching and role modeling from staff as they navigate the joys and challenges of parenting without substance use. Mothers are assisted in accessing community resources to address their children’s physical, emotional, and educational needs. Pregnant women participate in extensive well-baby services, often returning to the residential program after their babies are born to continue their recovery.
Our extended services and support systems are only part of the reason clients who complete treatment in all of these DCCCA programs report an increase in self-esteem and a decrease in depression and anxiety, making them more able to sustain their journey through recovery.
